Why We Chose Wooden Soak Tubs at Avero Rotorua

At Avero Rotorua, every design decision was made with care — not only for aesthetics, but for comfort, hygiene, and peace of mind.

Instead of traditional shared spa systems, we chose private wooden soak tubs for selected suites. Each tub is filled fresh by our guests for their own use, allowing complete control over water temperature and timing, and ensuring a truly personal bathing experience.

Wooden tubs have a long history in natural bathing traditions, valued for their warmth, simplicity, and calming presence. They invite you to slow down, unwind, and reconnect — whether it’s after a day exploring Rotorua’s geothermal wonders or cycling through the Redwoods.

Importantly, our approach also reflects our commitment to cleanliness. Unlike spa systems that reuse water and rely on chemical treatment, our soak tubs use fresh water for every stay, offering reassurance as well as relaxation.
